How would your friends describe you?
My friends would describe me as a determined, loyal, and kind-hearted individual, who values helping and encouraging other people, and is someone who is not afraid to stand out from the crowd. They would also say I am someone who works hard at personal development so to reach her full potential and live her best life.
Do you have a favourite quote to share with us?
As someone who loves quotes it is so hard to choose just one. So I’ve shared two instead: “Be fearless in the pursuit of what sets your soul on fire” and “Don’t dance around the perimeter of who you’re here to be.”
If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go?
There are many places on my bucket list that I would love to travel to, but at the moment a tropical island somewhere like the Bahamas or Hawaii is calling my name.
Where do you keep your bettyquette products?
I keep my skin boss products next to my makeup and perfumes so that I can apply the beautiful product Get Up and Glow® before getting ready for my day.
And again at the end of the day when I have taken my makeup off Sleep On It® is there waiting to be applied before I say goodnight to the world.
What’s the best advice you’ve ever been given?
The best advice I have ever been given was to determine my values and shape my life around them.
It was explained to me that living in alignment with what you value, allows yourself to reach your greatest potential and live authentically. By doing so, you are being guided by what is most important to you, rather than being influenced by those around you and societal expectations, and in return you are living a life of fulfilment, purpose, and happiness.
Who or what inspires you?
It is not hard for me to feel inspired when there are so many amazing things happening in this world on a daily basis. I feel inspired by people who are making a positive difference in the lives of others, people who are defying the odds and breaking down barriers, and people who are speaking out about stigmatised topics.
In particularly, Ellen DeGeneres inspires me to always be kind and to give where you can. Her acts of selflessness and giving back to those in need are absolutely incredible and really admirable.
Taryn Brumfitt inspires me through her courage to speak out about loving our bodies through her “Embrace” movement.
I am also inspired by Bethany Hamilton and her resilience, as despite losing her arm in a shark attack at a young age, she defied all odds and went on to learn to surf and have an incredible career as a professional surfer.
I am also very blessed to be surrounded by an amazing family who inspire me to live my best life and reach my greatest potential.
How do you unwind?
When it comes to unwinding I turn to things that I enjoy most. As a lover of being outdoors I love sitting by the pool and reflecting on life – what’s been, what I’m so grateful for, and contemplating the future.
I also relish a day at the beach, or a hike, especially to a waterfall location, and a picnic somewhere in idyllic surroundings really helps me totally unwind. I also enjoy having time to watch my two favourite shows, The Ellen Show and The Big Bang Theory, and can often be heard chuckling away.
